In The Tabernacle

September 29, 2010
Picnik collage

We study and we learn and we return.
When we see not what we have to do
but what we get to do.
This week was the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles. We built our first sukkah.
With rope and sheets and drawn-in palms, we created a space to breathe in history.
We read about the Messianic ways of celebrating our [...]

This Is That

{photo of me by Dawn, click for more of her gloriousness}

I sit, open my small journal, the one for LIFE and not so much DREAMING, cautiously I peek inside.
It holds to do lists. I hate to do lists.

I try to start a new page, one with “Direction” as the title.
Hoping to find mine.

I doodle [...]

Chuckles The Courageous

September 17, 2010
Picnik collage

Charlie had a birthday recently. I am the mom to an 8 year old.  He asked me tonight to call him Chuckles.
At his school, they did a small celebration, and asked about each of his years.
He couldn’t remember anything.
Because he doesn’t realize

The autism sleep.
He has to re-learn things [...]

Most people who know me know that my children are on a pretty restrictive diet.  Because of their allergies and sensitivities, we have had to cut out gluten, dairy, corn and soy from their plates.  You might be thinking that those foods are in everything. And you’d be right.

Some of these women I knew, but some I didn’t. More importantly, *they* all knew each other.  I was the newbie.
I pushed away the thoughts of being an outsider and enjoyed [...]

The Warmest Beach

intended to take a pic of the sweet granny in the chair in the water, not the scantily clad men. ahem.

From the moment I met Stephanie, one of the founders of (In)Courage, we’ve joked about getting together at a *real* beach house.  We would go on and on about how fun it would be, what [...]

Because I’m Getting Bangs

September 7, 2010
bangs

I am getting my hair cut today. The first time in about a year.
I have anxiety about this for some reason.  Not because I don’t love getting my hair did.
Maybe because I haven’t had it cut since before I was pregnant?
It’s one of those “firsts”.  The kind that bring anxiety.
If I like it, I’ll share [...]

It’s A New Season

September 5, 2010

It’s time to return from the not announced sabbatical I took in August. {she grins sheepishly…}
We have been growing and healing and changing. It’s a beautiful thing to see, watching Spirit-power transform each and every one of us. Word confirmed, life changed.
But oh, the lack of sleep. {yawn}
School started in middle August, and somehow instead [...]
