My Purse, It Has Layers

July 30, 2010
purse

I got inspired by my friend Allison to do a “what’s in your purse” post. Why does this fascinate me SO MUCH? I know not.  But it does.
First, the bag:

Next, the what’s-in-it:

{{this is why I carry a huge bag}}
So beginning at the top…
1.  hypotrochoid art set that my son was playing with
2. small “birdy purse” [...]

The Path

July 28, 2010
DSC_7107

I’m your mama, it’s my job.
And your daddy’s.
To teach you about the things with weight, and grace and love.
To show you how to be peculiar.
To point to the Light so you will turn towards it.
On your own.
Look, little one.
There’s the path.

Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital [...]

Never getting tired of it, wanting more and more and more until I wonder if my thirst for this Love will ever be quenched.  If I’ll always be this ravenous…

No one aches, no one hurts
No one [...]

it can’t hold it
so i wail.

When you have an experience.  When you feel it well up, deep in belly, and it begins to prowl along your flesh.  Pushing out to limb upon limb, growing in power.  [...]

We Celebrated

July 16, 2010

My dad has always called me “princess”.
He still does.
But this day was about the queen.
{{and she won’t like me calling her that}}

It was her birthday.  Her day to feel the specialness that makes up her being.
She is my mama.

She requested my organic whole wheat chocolate chip cookies in lieu of cake and I happily obliged.
We [...]

On Freedom

July 2, 2010

As we celebrate freedom, I think of my own “no more shackles” year.  Back to the day when my freedom began.  It might sound odd or morbid, but it was the day of my daughter’s funeral.
I read what I wrote about that day, again today, almost six months later, and realized it was day 1 [...]

Mothers of Boys

I’ve joined the incredible ladies at The M.O.B. Society – The Mothers of Boys Society.  Have you found your way over there yet?  Amazing women who have a heart for helping moms of boys.
“He looks at me pensively as he stands up.  He knows most everyone in the place, so it’s not too scary.  [...]
