A Glimpse

Mabel

**Sweet smelling flowers into the sea for their sweet sister

Yesterday was Mabel Love’s service.  Just our family and our pastor and his family.  Small, sweet, short.  But oh.  Profound.

I am still soaking it all in, the time we dedicated to her.  All of it.  I want to wait a bit before I write it all out, but I cannot wait to share it.

It will move you, of that I am certain.

For now I’m going to spend time with the little ones and make an urgent trip to the cupcake shop.  The half dozen that Erin sent me were gone in 3 days.  And that was me holding back.

I’m just making up for being unable to eat for the last week.  Promise. (kinda)

I am just now preparing to attend a memorial service for another little one lost before her time. The mother had H1N1 pneumonia and was in an medically induced coma when they delivered. She never got to see, or hold or say goodbye to her precious daughter.

My thoughts will be with you as I try in some small way to comfort her.

Reading the comment above mine….it seems so small a gift but, I am so thankful you were able to hold Mabel. To tuck her sweetness into your heart if but for a moment.

I am thinking of you and your cupcakes today.
All four of them.

I can’t wait to hear all about it. And know that we have been sending many prayers, hugs and much support from California. Love you Arianne!

I am so so sorry Arianne. It’s just so unfair. I have you and sweet Mabel in my heart.

The picture alone is beautiful. Surely, the gift of Mabel Love will live in your hearts the rest of your days — until you can hold her in your arms again.

I told the girl at the shop (Heather, I think) to make the cupcakes with extra love because I was sad that I couldn’t eat them with you. I think she listened.

I’ve been thinking about you all weekend. The photo is beautiful. Captures the light and the boys and the sea and the rose petals beautifully.
The cupcakes… I think we need another Magnolia trip in NYC.
