Today while out at the store, I noticed this gorgeous Ginkgo tree. Almost all the leaves were still on it, having turned this luminous golden heavenly color.
I did a very unladylike thing and traipsed into the mulch and discreetly snagged a handful of leaves off the tree and shoved them into my purse.
I thought about those leaves all the way home.
Once home, I was able to share my bounty.
Just long enough for them to release said bounty to the sky…
I picked a few up to add color to my fresh olive wreath, impressing my five year old with my improvisational skills. He appreciates a good wreath.
Our last Fall in Chicago-land, I think I just might miss it.

You will! But I'm sure there will be wonderful things we're
missing out on where you're going. Can't wait to hear about your new discoveries.

Those are such neat leaves – we saw a few ginko trees randomly in Portland on a weekend away. They're stunning!
Your kids are just adorable!

Lovely captures. And I love the leaves in the wreath!
There is just something about fall in the midwest, no? But keep in mind that come January, while you're enjoying temps in the 60's, we'll be about 60 degrees colder than you! :)

Of course, you will. It's so beautiful and mesmerizing, but your fall will be beautiful, too. Especially when you are surrounded by those amazing boys.
