So cool. My husband grew up getting “susseys” and even though our parents were all from Alabama, I had NEVER heard such a word. I had not known anyone else to use it either, but it is SO stinkin' close to “surcee”.

BTW, the south is going to LOVE you!!!

I lived in the South for a short while and immediately picked up on the whole surcee phenomenon. Almost 20 years later, I still call fun little gifts surcees. Still drives my husband crazy because he doesn't understand the concept, but I'm teaching my kids all about them!

I love this post so, so much. Growing up in the south, I'd never heard it called surcie but it sure is a long standing tradition to do things like this to bless others. I love the (in) courage site, too. Those women are gutsy and their writing often brings me to my knees.
You, sweet woman, are a surcie, for sure. You hold a sweetness in your heart that is so very rare. At Blissdom, I was in awe of you. You are always thinking and you seem to just love life and love people. You are going to fit right in down here

Sometimes I wonder if I made the
right decision to not be an incourage writer, but they are truly in another league... I know without a doubt I am not ready yet. Maybe someday. I need to be a more regular reader there. They do offer so much asking nothing in return. You are blessed to have these sweet encounters. It seems like it's all falling right in place.
