The Tide Is Coming

I thought of water this morning, not just because the ocean both calms and humbles me, but also because we were singing about it during church.  The words hugged me.  Gave me goosebumps.

Sometimes when I feel stalled in this place of limbo-land in my life, it’s good to be reminded that the tide will, in fact, come in.

And what was said to the rose
To make it unfold…
Was said to me here in my chest.
So be quiet now. And rest.

The ocean is growing…
The tide is coming in..
Here it is.

Here is our King, here is our Love
Here is our God Who’s come
To bring us back to Him

Gorgeous and YES. It won’t be long. Remind each other daily, it says. I’m holding on wit you, Babe.

This filled my eyes with tears, because it's such a testament to the transient nature of our struggles. As much as we founder when we're in them, I love your reminder that at some point, a power greater than us takes over. Sometimes we have to go limp and let our bodies be supported. Thank you, mama.
