Thinking Thin: Walk It, Girl (A Giveaway!)

by Arianne on April 30, 2009

As some of you may know, I joined Weight Watchers about a month ago, and have been beyond impressed with the program, the company and the community.  I’m down 14 pounds, loving the feel of my clothes being big on me, and telling everyone I know about this easy and effective plan.

To be counting points and loving it is such a suprise, I can’t say it enough.  I’m a hippy.  A rebel.  And I shun routine (as much as a mom of autism can, anyway), and never imagined I’d actually have fun doing this Points Prance.  I actually enjoy it.  One point here for that chocolate bar?  Ooooo yeah, baby!  I’m dying for pizza?  Well, count the points and pay attention to my portions (one or two pieces instead of 4).

That’s the Points Prance (I just made that up.  I’m in the mood for alliteration, ok?).

I’m a member of the online program, which means I have this lovely little organized way to track my food, water intake, vitamins, and more.  It’s so simple, I get giddy checking things off!

I know my success won’t just be in my eating plan though, which is why I’ve been including some form of exercise almost every single day.  Weight Watchers knows this too, and started the “Blog It – Walk It” campaign and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it.  I’ll be doing a local 5K walk in June, and would love any of you local yokels to join me (come on, you know we did a 10K last weekend, this 5K is NUTHIN).  If you’re a WW member you get to sign up to be on my team and get a training guide and a 6 month subscription to WW.

Even if I do this alone, I know that it’s another big stepping stone in my Thinking Thin journey.  One that I’ll cherish, and that I’ll remember as another turning point in my weight loss journey.  To be doing this for ME, well, I still can’t believe I’m keeping at it.  Committing really does work. And so does believing.

So, like I said — I can’t recommend WW enough.  Whether you have 20 or 120 pounds to lose, this is an awesome AWESOME way to do it.  They’re Good People.  And I’m thrilled to be able to give away THREE Weight Watchers memberships (for 3 months) to you guys! I know that this will be the jumpstart you need to keep going (and it’s totally worth it to keep going — you deserve it) or 3 months is all you need to get down to your goal weight (in which case, I hate you.).

To Enter:

1.  Leave a comment here telling me why you want to win.  That’s it.  Why do you want this membership?

2. Tweet about this contest (include @ToThink in your tweet) and leave a comment here with the url to your tweet.  This is one additional entry and can be done up to once per day.

3.  Add my badge to your blog sidebar for one additional entry and leave a comment telling me you did (if my badge is already on your blog, just leave an additional comment letting me know!).

I’ll randomly pick the winners next Thursday, May 7th at Noon.  Good luck!

I want to win because I've gained about 60 lbs since I had my gallbladder out last year. I need to be a size 12 and I'm a size 20 right now, previously, for years, even through 3 kids, I was a 14. I don't want to be at risk for heart disease or diabetes. I want to see my great grandchildren.

I have gained weight since my thyroid went hypo and it is hard to lose since I really can't exercise due to medical conditions. I did do WW quite a few years back and lost some weight but wasn't able to keep it up. I would love to be able to try again and make some real changes in my life as I am getting closer to the big 4-0 so I need to look at getting my weight under the 200 mark.

I'm working really hard right to lose weight. It's a slow and sometimes discouraging journey when you are doing it alone. I need this because I can't do it alone and I know that. The kind of support system that WW provides would not only help me learn how to better manage the weight loss, it will be a great support system because I know the it works.

I'm at least 40lbs overweight and would love to get a boost with Weight Watchers. :)

Last year I joined Weight Watchers and lost 30 pounds. I stopped going thinking I could save the money and do it myself and lose the remaining 20 pounds I wanted to lose. Not happening. I've totally fallen off the wagon and I'm back to my bad eating habits. My clothes are showing it, too. If I don't do something soon I won't have anything to wear this summer because I gave away all my "fat" clothes. I need that motivation of doing battle with the Weight Watchers scale every week and the tips, support and recipes I get from the meetings.

I need this membership-oh so badly… I'm 9 weeks postpartum with Baby Ira and actually 20 (ish) lbs down from my prepregnancy weight. See… I don't gain weight with pregnancy. I've never really changed the way I eat when I'm pregnant and my caloric needs go up.. so there ya go. Yes, I'm a freak of nature. The same thing happened when I was pregnant with Jack, but I gained it all back with breastfeeding. I think this 20 lbs is a good starting point for me to lose the other 50 I need to lose. Now that I see how great I look 20 lbs down ( with a still flappy tummy) I'm motivated to lose more! And I want to get tattoo number 2 on my hip, and I won't do that if I'm a chunker.

Oh, and I also need it, because I'm too broke to go join myself, thank you very much!

I would love to get on board with weight watchers! I like that it helps you change eating habits rather than starving yourself or selling you a bunch of pills. I'm a newlywed and we're both about to graduate with our bachelor's degrees (read: very poor) so it would be great to get this free three months. I have gained 25 pounds since I started college and want to get into better eating habits before we start having kids (maybe in a year or two). Thanks!

I would love this membership. I really want to lose some weight before summer so that I have the energy to keep up with my kids. I want to show a good example for them. I have about 50 lbs to lose and this would be a great start and a great way to see if WW will work for me.

I've never done WW but have heard good things. I'm doing my first breast cancer walk this year. The extra weight I'm carrying isn't good for my training. My knees and lower back hurt after a walk. I'm really afraid I won't be able to walk the full 60 miles. It would be great to have some extra help in getting the weight off.

As a Mother to a 15 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. My son was diagnosed with Autism when he was 2 years old. Most of my life has been about caring for my children and manly my son because he requires 24 hour care. Last year I had major back surgery and now I am trying to lose weight so that I can become healthier and be around to take care of my children. My sister has been a member of Weight Watchers and has had success on with the program. I would like to join Weight Watchers and do something for myself and for my family. Now that I am able to walk better I have started to walk and eat better. I need to lose about 100 pounds. Thank you!

I'm a little more than 60 lbs overweight and about to turn 30 this year. I'm really trying to get this weight off now, because I know it's only going to get harder. I now have access to a gym and I'm getting into a new workout routine, but I need help with eating better and I think weight watchers could really help me succeed.

I really am to the point that I am miserable, and uncomfortable at 45 pounds overweight. I am serious, and ready to get healthier, and feel better! I have four children, and I've got to be healthy for them, and right now, I just can't be 100% for them. Thanks for the opportunity.

This program was successful for me after my two daughters were born. I was diagnosed with lupus a few years ago and gained weight on prednisone treatment. I haven't been motivated to lose the extra weight again. I need to do it and now want to do it, and this program WORKS! I would love to win this prize.

I would love to win because I would love to lose weight and this sounds like a program that I could be successful at. I have six kids, five of which have been in the last eight years. I am a size 14 now, but used to be a size 8. I would love to get back to (or pretty close to) my "pre-baby" size now that I am finished having my children. Thanks!

I don't want to win, I just want to say good for you! I lost ten pounds with the ladies at Weight Watchers before I fell off the wagon, but I was so impressed with the program and the support. Had I been able to continue attending meetings I would have had continued success. They're really great!

I would like to join weight watchers because I’m having a baby on April 2, 2011 and I want to shed the baby weight as soon as possible I was a size 8 maybe a little smaller when i got pregnant and I know what it’s like to have extra weight on once i weighed 215lbs and I’m only 5′3 I dread those day’s again and I’m in fear of getting too fat after the baby I already feel too fat now so I’m going to join weight watchers weather I’m one of the chosen 3 anyway though I lost the weight on my own the last time I just looked in the mirror and got on the scale then I said to myself you have to loose this weight so I got down to 142 lbs I didn’t like that weight tho because it made my head look long so i’m thinking maybe 150llb.
