Meet Me In Kissimmee

Being new to Chicago-land and therefore new to being anywhere near the awesomeness that is Florida, I long for a vacay something fierce.  Going on *gasp* 8 months of cold weather, I find myself constantly thinking about places to visit all throughout the sunshine state.  The warmth, the newness (we’ve never been there as a family!) and yes even the fact that it’s within driving distance, call me like a siren’s song.

Just one look at the Kissimmee travel site (don’t miss the cool interactive feel you get while navigating the site — so fun!) and I’m immediately itching to pile the kids into the car, toss the winter coat, and head south to this central Florida getaway.  Maybe I’ll send them off on a hike at one of the Lakefront Parks (free!) while I take a day of relaxation and pampering at the Ranch Spa Club.  They won’t miss me, right?

So I got even more excited when I realized that I could WIN a trip to this fabulous place!  Check it out:

Kissimmee is giving away three (3) weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two (2); and two (2) week long vacations for four (4). Drawings will be held on or around 5/1/09 and 6/1/09. The best vacations are free! Click on the link above to enter.

Who knew this gem was hiding in Florida all this time?  I’m off to do some more dreaming…where are your “if only” getaways?

I am also itching for a vacation! Anywhere that doesn't have cows, horses and the manure that comes with it! Kissimmee sounds fabulous!

That is definitely something I'd like to win right about now!

Okay, truly you picked the worst year to move to Chicagoland! Our weather has been so gross, it's not even funny.

I promise, it will get better.

(I'm from California…been in the Chicago 'burbs for almost 8 years now. Gulp.)

Kissimmee is GREAT! We were just there a couple of weeks ago — it is close to everything you'd like to do, family-wise, but far enough to do it's own thang, so to speak. Everyone there is so nice and so helpful too! I'm going to enter, I would LOVE to go back! Great idea and post, thanks!

This spring has been the WORST. I, too, am dreaming of Kissimmee.

That sounds really nice. I think we will do a family trip sometime later this year *crossing my fingers* and we will probably do Florida too. I heard Destin(sp) is a nice family friendly place. Or we might do Charleston or Savannah. I don't want to travel too far in the car with a toddler.

My parents just got back from visiting Charleston and Savannah and are over the MOON about them! Lucky girl living so close to them. :)
