I know that I’m either totally coming out and making a confession with this post, or I’m proudly raising my hand in solidarity with fellow fans of the series.
I’m obsessed with Twilight.
I actually saw the movie first, with Stephanie from Adventures in Babywearing, before ever reading any of the books. We were curious about all the hype and wanted to see for ourselves what was making so many females go weak in the knees. I came out of that movie so in love, with the story, with The Cullens (Edward Cullen specifically), with the characters.
I quickly picked up the first book, and within a little over a week I was through all 4 gigantic books (it was over the holidays and good timing to just disappear for ahile!). When the series was over I devoured all the “deleted pages” that the author Stephenie Meyer had posted online. I missed the Cullens, I missed Forks (the main locale for the story). I still miss them, and can’t wait for more stories involving them (hint hint Ms. Meyers!).
I’ve never been so smitten with a fiction novel, much less a series, in all my life. The writing is geared towards teens, so it’s not a difficult read, which you cruise through the pages and find out what peril lies ahead for Bella and her vampire family. I don’t know if it’s the unrequited Austen-ish vibe to the stories, or how much I relate to Stephenie Meyer and her writer/mom life, her “I’m normal and all this hype kinda freaks me out” mentality, or her love of driving fast. It’s nice to have an easy to read escape when the economy is crushing and parenting special needs children chews up every last coping skill I have. Now that I’m on my second go-round of reading the series, I can pick up the book, read a few pages and escape into that world and relax. It’s therapy.
So you can imagine I’m beyond excited for the DVD release of Twilight coming up on March 21st. I can’t wait to get the movie into my hot little hands, to see the DVD extras, and to just have a ball with this romantic, chaste – yet so passionate, exciting, vampire love story.
As a WalMart 11mom, I’m excited to share with you that WalMart has some serious fun going on surrounding the DVD release, and has even set up their own WalMart Twilight page with a countdown clock, character “bites”, polls and more. I started reading these books about a week after Twilight was released ( I am vampire junky so I knew what is was about BEFORE the hype).I adored the first book the best. Such fun and excitement! I really enjoyed all the books BUT Twilight was my favorite!

Okay, your post was eerie, because it was almost EXACTLY how I was introduced to the movies and then the books! I saw the movie with my son (which I loved! It brought me back to when I was a teenager and fell in love with Patrick Swayze the first time I saw Dirty Dancing in the theaters!) After the movie, my son told me that there were four books to this series and within a week I had devoured ALL of them! Great strory, great books, great escape from the daily grind!

Honestly, I don't remember what happened in each book, because I read them back to back in like a week… I think my favorite book was probably Breaking Dawn, because I liked hearing about all the other vampires, and I liked seeing Bella develop her own vampire defensive thing.

I'm new to the Twilight phenomenon. I've read Twilight and am half way through New Moon. So far, I like Twilight much better because it is annoying my how very little Edward is in the second book. But, I keep reading because I know he'll be back (right?) and well… the book is still good even though I'm missing him.

My favorite book from the series was breaking dawn. I think Stephanie put so much thought into that book of the series. it had me on the edge of my seat anticipating Edward, Bella, and Jacob's every move and when Renessme came in the picture I wanted to know more about her, I wanted to actually meet her so she could tell me her story. By the end of the book, i truly felt like I knew the Cullen's personally.

I really love each book for different reasons, I can keep reading them over over again! But the second one is maybe my favorite. Just because of the emptiness she is left with and the fact that she is desperate to hear his voice, even if it means risking her life. The first book in the series has to be my favorite. My 12 year old is a HUGE fan of the series and the first book was the one that really took a bite out of him…
Whenever your child gets bitten by the Reading Bug, then you are a happy mommy. When he became excited about the stories, I just had to read them too! Twilight really set the stage and all 4 books so far are AMAZING!

Breaking Dawn was my favorite, I adored the storyline advancing into a little more mature realm and the level of emotion is just unbelievable.
As a side note, I think Breath by Breaking Benjamin should be the theme song for twilight. Listen to the lyrics… I'm totally obsessed with the song because of the mental picture I get from the book when I hear it.

It's really hard to pick a favorite because I'm obsessed with all of them. My most favorite would be Twilight, the 1st novel. I found Twilight to be really sweet and less dramatic than the other books in the series. A few parts from other books could be boring to me, but not with Twilight, every single detail was engaging. Twilight described the beauty of each vampire vividly. Also, Bella was very likable in Twilight, unlike in Eclipse when she started to fell for Jacob.

I would have to say Breaking Dawn or Twilight. Breaking Dawn was fantastic with the wedding and the island and Bella getting pregnant and going through that pain but getting a beautiful baby girl and her chaging into a vampire. WOW!!! Wonderful I'm excited about this contest! My favorite book has to be New Moon and what I've read so far of Midnight Sun. New Moon because of knowing how she felt when Edward left. No one wants to see someone they love go away. And reading how Jacob picked up the pieces of her broken heart and helped heal it little by little was great! The "months" pages give you that feeling of the time passing when Edward leaves. How could you not relate to that?!
Midnight Sun because I LOVE reading what Edward was thinking, I always wondered what he thought through out 'Twilight' it just made me love him more you know? Edward is a pretty complex guy who is disgusted with who he is, but learns to accept it and I just really liked reading it and I can't wait til Stephenie finishes it!

Okay lets see, for one thing I KNOW (!!!!!) I must be the biggest fan. I started reading them in 2005, the year they came out and like many others I don't know which was my favorite. I read Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse in 2 days, and Breaking Dawn in 3 hours. So far my current stats are: Twilight-121 times, New Moon-133 times, Eclipse-157 times, Breaking Dawn-179 times

I have to admit, i am soooo overly obsessed with this saga and the movie, and I just cant wait for it to come out on dvd! I’m definately Team Jacob and im sooo excited 4 New Moon to come out November 4th too. I’ll be the one at the midnight showing (and at least 10 more after that, who needs sleep when you could be watching Taylor Lautner on the big screen, right?) with “Team Jacob” written all over her LOL. Anyways my favorite parts are mostly in the 3rd book, so I cant say much about them in case some people may not have read it, but one of them is around the chapter where Bella breaks her hand after punching a certain person, and that person and another important certain peson have a stand-off, while a very annoyed Bella grumbles to herself in the car. Another is when Jacob ends up warming up Bella in a sleeping bag in a tent on a mountain, and he has some not-so-Edward-friendly thoughts. Yes, Eclipse is definately my favorite because it seems that Jacob grows up sooo much in this book. By the way, thank you for this contest and this great opportunity to win one of the best movies of 2008!

My favorite book is New Moon. I know a lot of people don't like that Edward is not in most of the book but he really is in the sense that Bella is always tied to him. She has to go through every experience without Edward to get to her epiphany at the end. I really think though that my favorite will change when Midnight Sun comes out because I am just so fascinated by the workings of Edward's mind.

It's the intense, swallow you whole, "you complete me" type of love story, and that's what got me hooked. The Host, Breaking Dawn, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse are all Stephenie Meyer books I have read at least 2-3 times! My favorite of them all is Twilight because it was the first one I read and it allowed me to get to know all the main characters and understand the depth and uniqueness of them and Twilight was so compelling it drew me in to want to read all the other books in the series! I am so excited about Midnight Sun and am chomping at the bit awaiting it! Am I a fan or a crazed fanatic, somewhere inbetween! I love getting lost in the fantasy of these books and I can see myself on the beach this summer reading them a 3rd and 4th time because each time I capture some new feeling or sense of allureness and it never gets old!

I posted a comment yesterday but I think I didn't post it in the right place because I cannot find my comment here. I'd love to win this and I really hope I do. I am in love with the Twilight Saga. An absolute fan of the series, I've read all the books and watched the movie. I really enjoyed every bit of reading the books but if I really would have to choose from all the books, it would have to be Eclipse.
I guess, Eclipse had so many milestones and drastic decisions resulting from choices made, it was quite intense. For readers who haven't yet read the later on books, I'd refrain from posting any spoiler. The movie was a very good adaptation of the book and I look forward to catch New Moon by this year end.

My heart was a twitter, i was giddy for no reason, it was sad….of cousre, it could've been sleep deprivation since I satyed up all night reading.
