In case you didn’t already hear, I’ll be leaving tomorrow to head down to Florida to board the Disney Wonder and head to the Bahamas for the weekend.
Amazing, right?!
Disney has gathered a small group of mom bloggers for this go ’round, and has a seriously rocking itinerary in store to show us what their cruise line is really all about. I’ve heard great things, but I can’t wait to experience it for myself! I mean, check out this boat:
Reading about how the Disney Wonder was voted the best of the big cruise ships by Conde Nast Traveler only affirms what I’ve known for years–that Disney has the golden touch. They care about quality, not just quantity, and mom bloggers have seen over and over how they love to pamper us and reach out to us as a community.
I’ll have some time online while onboard, but may just post a few pics now and then until I return next week and can give you the full scoop!
I’m noticing a fog sinking in due to way too many non-sunny days, and can’t tell you how thrilled I am at the prospect of some sun and relaxation time.
And did I mention it’s just me going? No kids? As I sit here typing amidst a(nother) tantrum going on a foot away, the idea of a little R&R is so lovely I can practically taste it. I feel so blessed to be invited, and I know those of you wanting opportunities like this will have your chance too!
I’m not worried about my albino skin, not worried about my lack of summer fashion (since I’m firmly in the arctic tundra with a good 3 feet of snow in my front yard), and don’t even care that it’s 7pm, I leave in less than 12 hrs, and have yet to start packing.
Because I’m going to the Bahamas, y’all.
Other peeps coming along on my voyage:
- My Brown Baby – Denene
- Selfish Mom – Amy
- Skimbaco Lifestyle – Katja
- Traveling Mom – Kim
- Don’t Try This At Home – Melanie
- My Teen, The Alien – Maria

I hope you have a blast, but pack a damn sweater because it's COLD down here in sunny FL. But sunny it IS, so at least you'll get that. I can't wait to hear all about your cruise…I'll be waiting here, stewing in my jealousy of your awesome kid-free weekend.

I fear cruise ships. I've seen one too many ship movies that do not end well…plus there's the stuff living in the ocean…have fun though!

I totally agree with you that Disney "has the golden touch." They do with everything with such class and quality. Although I've been to both parks, I've never been on a Disney Cruise. I can't wait to hear all about your experience! Be sure to take lots of photos! Enjoy that sunshine!

As I sit at my computer, looking out my window onto yet another snowy winter's day, I can't help but live vicariously through you and all those other lucky blogettes! You'd better be prepared to post lots of photos for the snowpeople who need a ray of sunshine through you!! I have never been on a Disney Cruise, but with 9 grandchildren, all 8-years old and under… can you hear me packing their little Disney-inspired suitcases!!?? I need to know ALL the DETAILS!!

OH I am crazy jelous! I LOVE Disney and actually worked there while I was in College-LOVED it. I secretly want to move back to FL so I can work there again. I would seriously work there for free; I loved it. And oh I wish I could go with you on that cruise. It is raining and DARK outside at 2pm. sigh. I've never been on a cruise, but I'm sure Disney's is one of the best; I can't wait to hear about it. And next time around you HAVE to smuggle me on board….lol!
[Reply]
ack, I can't spell: jelous= jealous

I'm sure you had oodles of fun! You were in great company for sure!
[Reply]
Aw yes, some new awesome friends was one of the best outcomes of the whole weekend!
[Reply]
You lucky lucky dog you! That is an amazing get away. I'm not sure if I would enjoy a cruise cause I do get motion sickness, but I would take the chance just to be near Mickey Mouse! Have the time of your life…
