Another Decade

Ever since yesterday’s post “I Get Lost“, I’ve had that song in my head. Debbie Gibson. 1989. I get weak, in a glance…
The 80’s. I can’t get enough. Walk like an Egyptian, Manic Monday. Hot pink and black. 80’s mod clothing. Atari. Bon Jovi with the hair.
I love it all. It’s not like I want to start hair-spraying my bangs straight up again or wearing shoulder pads, but today’s version of the 80’s. I’m slightly obsessed.
My friends make fun of me. I think I may be alone in this love.
However, when I decorate my home (well, in my head at least…) it’s all mid-century modern, 60’s and 70’s mod. Eames, simplistic, black, orange, white, brown. Vintage. It makes me swoon.
So where am I? I’m stuck somewhere, or perhaps not stuck but happily resting, and I wonder who’s there with me.
Where are you?

Got something to say?

Where am I? You tell me… I think I’m a mix of boho hippie simple couturewannabe chic?
: )
I don’t claim to be anywhere, the house is decorated in my husbands style cause I don’t care enough to put up a fight. Me though..Oh yeah, my iPod is FULL of 80’s songs… Just today reading blogs I’ve read about Tickle Deodorant, Big Bangs, Flashdance, Love’s Baby Soft, Body on Tap Shampoo.. ahhh, the god ole days.
I’m still figuring that one out myself. But I think I might be a 90’s girl.
I have a friend who seriously still tight rolls her pants- every day- not as a joke- that’s just how she wears her pants.
So, it’s YOUR fault! I’ve had that song in my head since yesterday and I could not figure out from where!
I have been listening to LOTS of Yaz lately.
Music-wise, I’m in the ’70s; Hair-wise, the mid-’90s, and soul is smack dab in the ’60s.
BUT, I do love me some Debbie Gibson and oh my gah, I wore that cassette out. Also, Yaz! Yes, Rhi! Yaz!
i have debbie gibson’s and belinda carlisle’s greatest hits on my ipod … it makes me want to rip my jeans and draw a face on my knee.
I remember spending HOURS listening to Debbie Gibson on my…ummm..walkman, swooning over whatever boy I liked at the time!
