Boy-A-Tude

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

My 3yo is destined to be an artist in some way, and one of his many gifts is his way with words.   A writer in training?  I would love it. Because, if you combine his attitude with his intuitive and creative nature–well, be prepared for an adventure into the English language.

Just today, we’ve witnessed the following:

After a discussion about chipmunks eating nuts he said, “What is it I said again?  Oh yeah, I want to give chickenmonks coconuts.”.

Then a little while ago, after talking about looking up wasps on the internet, and he said, “What?!  We could look up anything?  Even monkey butts??!!!!!”.

After meeting a new friend at the park called Armando, he insisted on calling him “Golden”, instead.  Maybe he knew something about “Armando” that we didn’t know?

No matter what crazy thing is coming out of his mouth, it’s sure to entertain and sure to be dunked in a good bath of attitude and self importance.  Let’s not forget the legendary applesauce conversation or the fact that when he’s older he will grow a beard and not listen to me.  I can hardly wait.

What funny thing did your children say today?

funny and timely, because it wasn’t what she said, it was what I heard:

My tween told the 11 year old to “go eat his face.” Nice, huh?

I have preschoolers that say much cuter things, but that’s the one that came to mind first!

    Your boy is adorable.

Ha! What a cutie… he reminds me of Gavin sometimes. Boys… they’re awesome aren’t they!

My teenage daughter worked in our preschool for one summer. She was eating lunch with the kids. One asked her: “Can I smell your food?” That freaked her out.

Then a little girl raised her shirt and told my daughter: “Look, I have boobies.” That really freaked her out.

I told her it was all in a day’s work…angie

I loved today how he said that he was the “boss man” and his brother had to “play the whole level” before he could fight him with swords. Made me laugh so hard!

He is a riot! I’m watching two of Audrey’s boys while I type this… my brother-in-law went to go pick her up to bring her home from the hospital with Henry, and he brought Willliam with him. I was playing a song on the keyboard for her 2 1/2-year-old Alex and he told me he didn’t like the songs I played. I told him I was playing Fur Elise special for him, and he told me he doesn’t like “Furry Beast.” I was cracking up!

We were crossing the Illinois border into Wisconsin today and my five year old Mia asked, “Do they speak…England in this state?”

Got something to say?
