Sisterhood

I’m blessed to have an actual sister who is amazing and smart (and relentlessly young and thin), but I never imagined having friends so amazing that you *wish* they were your sisters, too. I’ve talked about my tribe before, and this weekend I added to that tribe. I love this pic because it showcases us all pretty well…

And since Beth somehow escaped that fabulous shot, she gets her own:

This vegan actually ate half a cheeseburger and didn’t hate it (although I may or may not have regretted it later, but the pina coladas made me forget). Don’t I look a little *too* happy about the burgers?

My gut hurt from the crying and the laughing, and I think that’s the best kind of hurt. It’s real, and it creates memories that last forever.

  1. Adventures In Babywearing Said,

It did feel like a sisterhood. Definitely more than friendship and most surely not just bloggers getting together. I love that top pic, too!

  2. Amanda - VintageDutchGirl Said,

The laughing gut hurt is the BEST!!!

  3. crookedeyebrow Said,

I look like I had toothpicks in my eyes while eating a cheeseburger.

    holy cow

But it was a great night and it certainly didn’t feel like any other blogger get together.

    I love you (wo) man….

  4. Amy F. Said,

    Hi Arianne,
This is the first time I’ve visited your blog. Thanks so much for the comment on mine :-) “Comments” is the hot topic today, thanks to Miss Beth!

You girls obviously had a great time together the other night and seem to have a special bond. Too much fun. Redamak’s is one of my favorite places. Peer pressure to eat half a burger? That Beth can be very persuasive and influential.

    Have a wonderful evening,
    Amy

  5. Carrington Said,

I think there is like a scientific proven study that shows that a happy hormone is released when women get together, and more is released when you TALK, and even more when you actually like each other. I bet there was a whole lot of happy hormones floatin’ around, oh and the drinks helped too! (Oh, and don’t forget ice cream, hello!)
So glad you had such a deeply happy experience with the new additions to your tribe.

  6. Beth at I Should Be Folding Laundry Said,

Okay, why the heck do I have to keep retyping my info in your comments section? I AM SO LAZY!

But, I still love you and look forward to seeing you again. This is a great post - very well said - I’m so proud to be a part of that group.

How in the hell did I not get into that picture???? Now everyone will think I’m Blossom.

  7. milk&honey Said,

I’m pretty sure beef releases a happy hormone, too. Mmmm.

  8. Elaine Said,

I have loved looking at all of your blogs of those of you who got together. It is a sisterhood, isn’t it?? : )

We did this too a few weeks back (5 of us from the DFW area) and although we are not as close-knit as you gals, I hope we can be in the future!

    Good times, good times…

  9. Mrs Mogul Said,

    WOOF!
